Advocacy

We are here to work for you.

The LCCA Members work year-round to address issues affecting the industry, such as the implementation of overreaching and egregious rules and legislation; fighting attacks upon Retro Plans, increased permit burdens, impact fees, and unreasonable environmental constraints, or excessive litigation. The LCCA educates our members with regard to the important civic matters that impact our industry. The Committee meets quarterly with local building officials and department directors to address concerns facing the construction industry in our county; anyone may attend these meetings.

The Government Affairs team partners with BIAW members to protect and promote the American dream of homeownership for Washington families. During the legislative session, BIAW works to pass pro-housing and pro-business legislation and defeat efforts that drive up the cost of buying or remodeling a home.

All year round, BIAW represent members in state agency rulemaking and before the State Building Code Council, providing your perspectives to decision makers and keeping members informed of new codes and regulations.

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) advocates at federal, state, and local levels to protect and promote the residential construction industry. Key priorities include improving housing affordability, reducing regulatory burdens, advancing pro-growth tax and finance policies, strengthening the workforce, and supporting legal and grassroots advocacy. NAHB also provides funding and support to state and local associations to help address regional housing challenges. https://www.nahb.org/advocacy/advocacy-overview
